Introduction and History
The Trenwith Stud was established in the mid 1970s, originally breeding Welsh Cobs and part-bred Cleveland Bays. In the early 1980s Welsh Mountain Ponies were added to the stud, including Springbourne Gwilym, Lippens Nightcap and Brierdene Golden Sovereign. Welsh Ponies of Cob Type were a later addition to the stud in the mid 1990s. There are currently eleven ponies at the stud including Welsh Mountain Ponies, Welsh Ponies of Cob Type and Welsh Cobs.
Lying on the A644 in the Calder Valley of West Yorkshire, Mirfield is situated between Dewsbury and Huddersfield in the Kirklees area of West Yorkshire's Bronte Country. Just 12 miles (20km) from Leeds, it is an ideal location for travelling throughout the North of England as it is within easy reach of excellent motorway connections, namely the M1 (6 miles from Junction 40) and M62 (3 miles from Junction 25). We are also conveniently placed for Leeds-Bradford Airport (30 minutes away by car), and the Leeds-Manchester rail link is within a two-minute drive of the stud. We have a selection of homebred stock for sale each year of all ages, which we try to sell from home.Visitors are very welcome but please phone first.Mr & Mrs D. Allen and Family West Yorkshire, UK.
